Droid Tri-Fighter (Buzz Droid Drop Attack) Revenge of the Sith Collection Overview

Droid Tri-Fighter in space

With it's oval eyes and protruding front gun the Droid Tri-Fighter looks like a mosquito from the front, and like the Rebel Alliance B-Wing Fighter the Tri-Fighter has a cetrifugal cockpit which rotates to correct itself as the ship spins around.

Find Tri-Fighter on eBay

It comes with five buzz droids (which is handy as the Vulture Droid only comes with one). Three of the buzz droids are still closed, and the other two have opened up to start sawing through Republic fighter ships. The Tri-Fighter also comes with three firing missiles and an undercarriage heavy blaster which I do have but which didn't make it on to the photos.

The Tri-Fighter comes with two different sorts of missiles, including two long large missiles which fit into the undercarriage. The Tri-Fighter I bought was missing these but I had some/one from a previous job lot on eBay. These missiles don't feel like they are Star Wars style accessories and I had them in a box of parts which I use for items which come with Star Wars job lots but which are from different toy lines.

The grey missiles on each of the three wings slot in very snugly and the firing mechanism for them is very well designed, as the button you push down also acts as a buffer which protects the wings from knocks and scrapes, thereby making the Tri-Fighter a much more robust ship than it would otherwise have been.

We see two Tri-Fighters very briefly during the battle over Coruscant in The Revenge of the Sith (blink and you miss them).

The interior of the cockpit is rather sparse, but since a droid doesn't really need a pilot I suspect that this is little more than a compartment for the Tri-Fighter Droid to store its payload of Buzz Droids.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
