Padmé Amidala (Queen's Decoy) Action Figure: Overview

This action figure represents Sabe acting as Padmé Amidala's decoy on Theed. In this particular scene she is impersonating the Queen during the capture scene with Nute Gunray and we see her and the other captives walking down the Palace steps with Sio Bibble (1) and the orange-robed handmaidens to the rear surrounded by Battle Droids.

Nuke Gunray: 'Commander'
OOM-9 'Yes sir'
Nuke Gunray: 'Process them'
OOM-9: 'Captain take them to camp four'
Captain: 'Roger, roger'

Whilst this deception is being carried out by Sabe, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon intercept the party on the streets of Theed and rescue the Queen and her decoy not yet realising that Queen Amidala is disguised as one of her own handmaidens.

Sabe is wearing the same outfit aboard the Naboo Royal Starship when the bravery of R2-D2 saves the ship and its passengers, and it is in this costume that she commends the astromech droid for his heroic actions.

Sabe's sombre outfit also serves quite well as a stand-in for Qui-Gon Jinn's funeral.

Note 1: You can't take a man seriously when he's got a name like Bibble. If he'd been born a generation later he could have been part of the Bibbilion against the Empire. However, as a governor he perhaps reflects the sort of regional management over the planetary systems that Palpatine has in mind when he disbands the Senate in A New Hope.

Other Power of the Jedi Action Figures

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
