I don't have the exclusive Qui-Gon Jinn that came with the Episode One Collection Opee which I don't mind since having the two together is a little incongruous since in The Phantom Menace they are not in the water at the same time. Qui-Gon is inside the Gungan sub when the Opee fish attacks. On the box cover of the Opee with Qui-Gon Jinn it tells us that Qui-Gon 'has articulated ankles for swimming', which would have seemed like a big deal in 1999 long before almost every Star Wars action figure released had plenty of joint articulation.

The Opee monster itself looks like a cross between a crustacean and a fish, and this beast of the seas has two layers of razor sharp teeth. I've used the fish from the Episode One Underwater Accessory Set to hold open Opee's mouth so that his two rows of teeth are on show.
Opee is nicely in scale with the Micro Machines Gungan sub.
In The Phantom Menace underwater scenes the scenario of the Gungan sub being beset by a big fish that gets eaten by a bigger fish is over-played as it happens twice in quick succession (with a brief interlude on the Trade Federation ship inbetween). Surely one of these two scenes should have been cut as having two of them adds nothing to the movie.
All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
