The level of detail on this Vintage Collection Gamorrean Guard action figure is just amazing, from his snout to his tusks to the wrinkly lines on his face. The snout is actually so life-like that you can almost imagine it glistening with a bit of stray mucus. The neck articulation on the Gamorrean Guard is particularly good and makes the figure very expressive.

This iconic palace guard figure comes with a great selection of accessories with an axe, a vibro-axe and vibro staff. In fact, there's plenty to share around your other Gamorrean Guard figures if you have ones that are unarmed. One of the axes is the familiar design from the Vintage Kenner Gamorrean Guard action figure but with more nuanced paintwork, so despite his newness this guard manages to tick the nostalgia box as well.
His helmet falls over just about every time you pick him up but aside from that this Gamorrean Guard figure is a very detailed and well-made action figure. I love the Gamorrean Guard's furry coconut pants which make this a wonderfully tactile Star Wars action figure as well as a great one visually, although the shorts don't do much for his waistline.
The only easily visible imperfection on the paint job on my copy of the Vintage Collection Gamorrean Guard figure is on his right hand where the paint for his thumbnail bleeds over in to his thumb. Aside from this he looks pretty much perfect to my eye.
As a distinctly pig-like character the Gamorrean Guard's name is an obvious contraction of gammon, which serves to compound his pig-like attributes. You can find more information on pejorative Star Wars naming conventions in my article on the Ephant Mon page here: Star Wars Naming Conventions.
All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
