As a medic I can't imagine the Chopper Droid having much of a bedside manner. He's very much a compassionless body mechanic who doesn't care much for your screaming as he bolts some new legs on to your broken thighs.

The Chopper Droid is the tripod body mechanic which seems to handle the most gruesome of the surgery to transform Anakin's body into that of Darth Vader and he peforms his task with all the sympathy and compassion of a car assembly-line robot. He could quite easily be imagined assembling Battle Droids on Geonosis and wouldn't make any distinction between working on mechanical parts and working on flesh. His imperviousness to the suffering of others is perhaps reflected by the fact that his angular head shows almost no facial features. Compare his angular face for instance to the round face and very soft eyes of the Polis Massan medics who simultaneaously attend to Padmé in childbirth.

Emperor Palpatine's claim to be able to create and save life is shown to be little more than butchery whilst Padmé in her dying moments gets on with the actual business of creating life. See my article on the creation of Darth Vader here: Emperor Palpatine and the Creation of Darth Vader.

Strangely the Chopper Droid shipped with a Mustafar lava figure stand which doesn't make a fantastic deal of sense since he performs his part in Vader's operation indoors. This does give us a clue though that Vader's transformation takes place on Mustafar as this is not totally clear in The Revenge of the Sith as Palpatine airlifts Vader away from the lava river to a location which for all we know might be Coruscant. It is only with Vader's reappearance on his Mustafar fortress in Rogue One when we might start to wonder about the location of Darth Vader's re-assembly.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
