This rendition of Grand Moff Tarkin (Governor) from The Revenge of the Sith has quite a cartoon-y feel to it, but nevertheless it's a quite nicely detailed action figure and captures well the trademark chin, nose and hairline which make Grand Moff Tarkin so distinctive (The animated feel to this rendition of Tarkin could arguably reflect that his presence in the film is enabled by CGI).

Although there is no articulation in the Tarkin figure's knees, the swivel articulation in his elbows does allow you to fold his arms behind his back in that characteristic Grand Moff Tarkin stance.

The character of Grand Moff Tarkin in The Revenge of the Sith provides one of the key bridges between Episodes III and IV helping us to make a convincing transition between the two worlds. Tarkin stands briefly with Darth Vader and Palpatine on the bridge of a pared down minimalistic Star Destroyer which contributes towards a transition between the fast, high tech and high octane world of Episode III and the minimalistic, less technological and slower world of A New Hope. The Star Destroyer is accurate to the original films right down to the technicians working on the lower deck of the bridge. The scene also quickly establishes Vader's working relationship with Tarkin and the construction of the first Death Star thereby helping to provide context where previously there was nothing but speculation as to how the films might fit together.

Other Revenge of the Sith Collection Action Figures

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
