It's not often you hear of one ghost getting bumped off by another ghost, mainly because they're already dead. This however is what this 30th Anniversary Collection Anakin Skywalker (Skywalker's Ghost) action figure did to previous versions of old Anakin's spirit. This of course included the Kenner Last 17 Anakin one which although a rather ambivalent action figure was our first (and used to be our only) impression of what Anakin Skywalker looked like.

The Anakin Skywalker (Skywalker's Ghost) figure fits with the first trilogy okay, but perhaps the figure should have been aged about 20 years. I'm undecided on this, as ghosts don't age and Anakin does symbolically die the moment that he becomes Darth Vader. So from this perspective Anakin's ghost should represent the character that we meet in The Revenge of the Sith. Nontheless, the Last 17 Anakin spirit action figure looked a generation too old to be Luke's father and conversely this 30th Anniversary Collection Skywalker's Ghost feels too young.

With his shimmering gold cloak and purple tunic and belt this Anakin figure looks more like he's heading out for the Jedi version of Gay Pride rather than about to appear as a spirit to his long lost son on Endor.

You can see from the side view that an attempt has been made to give this 30th Anniversary Skywalker's Ghost figure rather a benign facial expression which is in keeping with the original ghost of Anakin from The Return of the Jedi. He does look a little bit like he's enjoying a private joke though.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
