Obi-Wan Kenobi (Utapau) Action Figure: Overview

Obi-Wan Kenobi Figure Utapau close up

This 30th Anniversary Obi-Wan Kenobi action figure is well kitted out for Utapau scenes in The Revenge of the Sith with a blaster to dispatch General Grievous, a vibro staff to fend off a couple of Magna Guards and breathing apparatus to survive under water during his ordeal when his Clone Troops turn on him when Order 66 is executed.

The intervening action is covered by the Boga with Obi-Wan Kenobi set, and once you have both you have just about everything you need to display Obi-Wan on Utapau.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi (Utapau) figure's hair looks rather neat taking into count the intensity of the battle scenes on Utapau but it may well be that it is meant to be slicked down to represent him coming up from the water after Order 66 has been executed.

The Utapau Obi-Wan figure's mouth is slightly open to hold the breathing apparatus which I don't have at present. This is the second time we see Obi-Wan Kenobi under water. The first time is at the start of The Phantom Menace in the Naboo Swamp and this second time on Utapau at the end of the third movie almost bookmarks the Trilogy at either end with under water scenes. So we have an under water scene just before the first big battle in Episode I and just after one of the last ones in Episode III. It's rather a neat plot structure.

See my article on Obi-Wan Kenobi's underwater scenes in my article on Star Wars Trilogy Framing Devices – Fire, Water and Funerals.

Other 30th Anniversary Collection Action Figures

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
