Voolvif Monn (Jedi Master) Action Figure: Overview

The genius of Star Wars creature design has often been that of mixing up bipedal humanoid characteristics with those of other species in unusual and exciting ways (the Quarren and Mon Calamari species being two good examples). However, putting the features of a wolf on a humanoid body is nothing new and because of this it feels slightly 'un-Star Wars'. So whilst the 30th Anniversary Voolvif Monn action figure is a very nicely rendered figure he just doesn't feel convincingly canonical.

Perhaps my opinon is coloured somewhat by the fact that Voolvif Monn featured in the Tartakovsky Clone Wars cartoon which I have to confess I haven't seen in full. Watching all five series of The Clone Wars 2008-2012 for research purposes was a big enough task in itself and there are still gaps in my knowledge.

Like Lak Sivrak from the Mos Eisley Cantina Voolvif is of the species Shistavenen.

As a Jedi Knight he helps beef out the battle on Geonosis, as a putative survivor of that first battle of the Clone Wars.

Voolvif's name is an obvious play on Wolf Man, just as Ephant Mon's name is a play on Elephant Man. See my article on Star Wars naming conventions here.

Other 30th Anniversary Collection Action Figures

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
