R2-D2 Figure with Cargo Net 30th Anniversary

R2-D2 (with Cargo Net) Action Figure: Overview

The idea of having an Endor R2-D2 action figure with both the cargo net and the wooden contraption he's carried back to the Ewok Village with is quite novel. This enables the recreation of the scene where the heroes are captured by the Ewoks in The Return of the Jedi and the scene where they are taken back to the Ewok Village. In theory then this is quite a versatile 30th Anniversary R2-D2 action figure and a good companion piece or counterpart to the C-3PO with wooden Ewok throne which is from the Saga Collection (see also the Return of the Jedi Chewbacca from the Original Trilogy Collection). For me the best thing about the R2-D2 with Cargo Net figure is that it is spattered with greenery from the forest floor. Even if you didn't know precisely which R2-D2 action figure this is, there's no mistaking that he belongs on Endor.

Not only does the TAC R2-D2 figure's head click when you turn it, his sensorscope pops up as well which is a nice little nod towards the vintage R2-D2 action figure with pop-up sensorscope and the Last 17 R2-D2 with the pop-up lightsaber. The tripod leg is removable.

I don't seem to have the right cargo net for this 30th Anniversary action figure and I found it almost impossible to attach the R2-D2 figure to the frame for carrying him. I did eventually manage this, but I then couldn't get any of my Ewok figures to grip the struts and carry it. Nonetheless he's still a good Endor display figure and I mostly have my TAC R2-D2 just in front of the shield bunker from the Endor Attack Playset.

Other 30th Anniversary Collection Action Figures

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
